Talks with President Corazon Aquino of the Philippines

Rajmohan Gandhi held talks with President Corazon Aquino of the Philippines. Mr Gandhi was in Manila as part of a 22-strong Moral ReArmament group from ten Asian and Pacific nations. The President spoke to representatives of the party about the need for 'a spiritual content in the new chapter found by the country'. The group, which had first-hand experience of facing up to unemployment, racial tensions, trade friction and corruption in their own regions, also had discussions with three cabinet ministers.

Michigan State University awards Rajmohan Gandhi an Honorary Degree

Lou Anna Simon, president of Michigan State University, where Rajmohan Gandhi has served this fall as a Distinguished Hannah Visiting Professor, awarded him 'the honorary degree of Doctor of Humanities' as part of the university's fall commencement ceremonies in East Lansing, MI. on December 17, 2016.

Part of the citation addressed to Rajmohan reads: "For more than half a century, you have been associated with Initiatives of Change, a group committed to trust-building, reconciliation and democracy."
